Mansier's Purpose Statement

For the past 25 years I have taught ESOL, French, and Spanish at various levels from pre-K to Community College.  I have never been fully satisfied with any of the textbooks that I've had to use with my students, nor do I believe that they currently meet the needs of 21st century learners. In addition, since my school does not have any dedicated language learning hardware to accommodate the audio-lingual component of second language acquisition, I have been searching for and utilizing web sites and online tools with my students for several years now.

While searching for current best practices in World Language instruction, I have discovered a wealth of information and a number of media-rich tools that have been specifically developed for K-12 World Language teachers. My most recent discovery includes various language learning and assessment tools that are currently available from the Center for Applied Second Language Studies at the University of Oregon http://casls.uoregon.edu/
